How to Care for Your Commercial Juicing Equipment

Preventative maintenance and cleaning of your juice bar equipment is just as important as maintaining your car by doing regular, standard maintenance that only takes a few minutes per day. It’s important to address equipment issues at the first sign, don’t wait until it becomes worse, as by then it might be too late for a simple repair. If you can afford it, keep a back-up juicer around. If there is ever a problem with your main juicer, you can relax knowing that your business won’t slowdown as you wait on repairs. With the larger equipment such as the MFJ or Piñabar, you want to leave it to the professionals to service them. Our larger equipment has a recommended maintenance schedule, but cleaning should be done daily. Just as you would want to wash your clothing before wearing, you should also quickly break-down and rinse machines after each use or by the end of the day.

At Juicernet, we provide maintenance service and part replacement as part of our offerings. If you’re ever uncertain about a cleaning technique or think your commercial fruit juicer might need repairs, just contact us and we’ll assist you right away. Cleaning tips are provided below to prolong the life of your juicer:

Ceado ES500, ES700 and CP150 – In between juicing, run a cup of water through the Ceado Juicer to keep it clean, ensure residue is removed and to help the flavors stay pure. After the end of each day, you’ll want to unplug your commercial juicer prior to cleaning it — no exceptions. The base of your juicer should never be immersed in water as this will destroy the motor. Cleaning the mesh screen on the basket everyday is very important because the pulp quickly dries making it very difficult to remove the next day. You’ll want to take out the basket and place in warm water with soap or use a specialized cleaner such as EZ Power Cleaner. You can then use a nylon bristle brush to clean these components or a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. If there are any metal parts on your juicer that need to be soaked, don’t let them soak for too long or they could rust.Use a bottle brush to clean juice pan spout. Use a damp cloth to clean the outside and then wipe with dry cloth for a nice shine. Stainless steel cleaner is another option if you have it on hand.

CJ JBT Fresh’n Squeeze Citrus Juicer – The recommended cleaner is JBT Corporation brand called CorKlean. Cleaning instructions can be found in the manual on this page: CJ. Step by step cleaning instructions can be found on page 12.

MFJ JBT Fresh’n Squeeze Cold-Press Multi-Fruit Juicer  Clean-up is simple, requiring disassembly of only five parts. All waste material — peel, membranes, and seeds is collected in a disposable garbage bag for easy removal and disposal. The recommended cleaner is JBT Corporation brand CorKlean. Step by step cleaning instructions can be found on page 15 of the product manual of the MFJ product page. Do read the Operator’s Do’s and Don’ts on page 14 before using your new machine.

Piñabar Self-Serve Pineapple Peeling, Coring and Spearing Machin e – Ecolab cleaning products are recommended for cleaning all machine parts. Cleaning the Piñabar requires removing just six components, washing with soap and water and then towel drying. For complete directions see the product manual on the Piñabar product page.

When purchasing a juicer, look at the cleaning methods and consider how much time will be involved before committing to that particular model.
