‘Tis the season… for unhealthy indulgences. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying all the treats the holiday has to offer, but all those foods and beverages can certainly catch up with you. Since 70% of Americans already fail to meet the federal dietary guideline recommendations, it’s likely that your customers will be looking for a way to offset their holiday eating in the next couple of weeks (and even after the holiday is over). For those who don’t want to give up the flavors associated with the winter holidays but want a healthier alternative, these smoothie and juice bar recipes will really hit the spot.

Faux Eggnog Smoothie

Get ready to put your smoothie bar equipmentto good use with this crowd favorite. Normally, eggnog can do a number on your diet. But this version is a whole lot healthier (and tastes just as creamy and delicious). All it requires is 1 and 1/4 cups of plain almond milk, two frozen bananas, and a soaked date, plus vanilla extract (1/4 teaspoon), ground nutmeg (1/4 teaspoon), ground cinnamon (1/4 teaspoon), ground clove (just a dash), and sea salt (only a pinch). You can also add in some spinach if your customers are eager to sneak in some greens! Simply blend until the banana is smooth and serve cold with a bit of cinnamon sprinkled on top.

Christmas Morning Juice

Even if you’re opening a juice bar after the holiday rush, you’ll still want to have this recipe on your menu — it’s that good. It has all the warm spices we associate with the merriment of the season but has lots of healthy ingredients. Plus, it’s super simple to make. Juice two Fuji apples in your commercial juice machine, along with three carrots and one sweet potato. You’ll also want to add a dash of cinnamon. This vibrant, sweet juice is the perfect way to start off any morning!

Peppermint Stick Smoothie

If you’ve got a customer who can’t get enough minty goodness, this is the recipe for them. With your smoothie bar equipment, you’ll blend one chopped apple, one peeled banana, one tablespoon of coconut milk, four sprigs of mint, one-half tablespoon of cacao powder, one cup of water, and one cup of ice. Garnish with a mint sprig for a tasty and healthy alternative to a traditional dessert.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to put your smoothie bar equipment to good use this holiday. For more recipe ideas or to learn more information about our juicers and other smoothie equipment, please contact us today.
